As one half of the creative duo behind fashion blog They All Hate Us, Elle Ferguson is best known for her understated style. But it isn't just her denim cut-offs, silk button-ups and sky-high stilettos that have everyone talking; her blonde tresses are as covetable as her wardrobe. She describes the look as "a mix between beach hair and Victoria's Secret [waves]".
Here, Ferguson reveals how she creates her signature look (hint: it's an overnight process):
1 "At night, I wash my hair with a volumising shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for fine hair. I spritz in sea-salt spray (I use two because I like my hair really crunchy) and let my hair dry naturally."
2 "The next morning, I curl my hair using a curling wand. I start from the back and work my way around to the front, doing the right side, then the left."
3 "I can't live without volumising powder. I sprinkle a 50-cent-piece-sized amount into my hand and crunch into my hair, starting at the roots and working down to the ends."
4 "Next, I brush out the curl with a large paddle brush. Then I spray in a lightweight hairspray. If it goes a bit flat, I turn the tongs back on and put some more curls in but the glory of this look is that it doesn't need to be perfect."
5 "The style usually lasts three days. At the end of each day, I spray in dry shampoo and sleep with it in, gently brushing out any excess in the morning."
